Padding

Jysk Handi Senge

Safe and secure sleeping environment with special padding

We take pride in helping individuals with special needs, their relatives and caregivers with custom-made padding. In this way, we also make sure that the care bed becomes a safe and secure sleeping environment.

Our padding is an integral part of every bed. We specially manufacture the padding so that each part fits exactly to the individual care bed. It makes the users feel safe and gives the care staff easy access to the patients in their daily work - because even though the openings are padded, they are simple and easy to handle from the outside.

Therefore, all parts of the padding fit exactly together and together form a complete shield against the hard edges of the bed. You can be sure that the padding is always where it should be. No matter how active the bed user is, the padding cannot be pushed away from the inside. Despite this, it is still easy to remove it from the outside when extra cleaning is needed.

We have generally seen two different types of padding for our care beds:

Padding - INSIDE: (which pads the entire inside of the bed)

Padding - INSIDE / EDGE: (which pads both the inside and the edge)

INSIDE / EDGE is the safest choice for all users who can sit up on their own or have such violent involuntary movements that arms and legs can realistically hit the edge of the bed.

Padding against blows in beds

The main purpose of our padding is to prevent blows that can be very serious and are often the reason why the night feels unsafe. Due to the frequent difficulty sleeping, people with Huntington's disease in particular will need to use one HS Care Bed for safe rest throughout the day.

The secret behind our padding is the construction like a sandwich. This ensures that the padding is durable, durable and safe for the user. From the inside to the outside we use:

  • 3 mm plastic plate for mounting on the bed frame
  • 10 mm hard Moltex foam
  • 15 mm soft cold foam
  • Incontinence cover

The effect of the glued-together construction is a soft surface against the patient, a twice as hard foam surface in the middle and a hard, form-retaining plastic surface against the bed.

The plastic plate is hung on the bed with the molded "hook". Together with the large velcro surfaces in the outer layer of the upholstery, it keeps the padding's large, stable surfaces in place. The plastic at the same time retains the shape of the foam.

The padding is improved with a sandwich construction in corners, edges and roundings so that the naturally harder surfaces do not cause damage in connection with involuntary movements.

Easy to clean and maintain

The top layer of our padding is a dark gray incontinence cover. It is, of course, liquid-repellent and durable. It can withstand daily wiping with water, soap and alcohol.

To make it easy and fast for the care staff to solve everything with the cleaning, we have provided the cover with a zipper. The cover can withstand boiling washer and dryer without shrinking or changing shape.

From inside the bed, the user can not reach the zipper or velcro. Therefore, it is also secured against users with a tendency to let their fingers wander and touch everything.

Any wear occurs first on the cover. Therefore, a regular, visual inspection of the bed is sufficient. In the event of visible damage, the cover must be replaced. The protective foam layers must never be exposed to liquids.

The padding elements are symmetrical on most beds and can thus be switched between headboard and footboard or right and left side. In this way, particularly exposed parts of the padding can have a longer lifespan by placing them in less exposed places in the bed.
